2013 North Fork Blend
2013 was an exceptional vintage for the North Fork of Long Island. The North Fork enjoyed a long and dry summer, with all of the early fall storms that we are used to, missing the region entirely. This allowed the grapes to ripen and mature at a steady and uninterrupted pace, resulting in wines of balance and intensity. The 2013 North Fork Blend is comprised of 85% Merlot, 11% Petite Verdot, and 4% Cabernet franc.
Powerful yet age-worthy, this blend shows feisty while young, and will continue to develop in the cellar over the next 20 years. Rustic and rich, yet complex and elegant, this blend highlights the distinctive terroir of the North Fork, by showcasing elements of cranberry, black currant, baking spice, and tobacco.
