2013 Blanc de Blancs
Made from 100% Finger Lakes Chardonnay grown on the northwest side of Seneca Lake in the Finger Lakes region of New York, Brooklyn Winery's first sparkling wine was made using Methodé Champenoise, which involves a secondary fermentation in the bottle. Bright apple and pear notes dominate the aromatics and palate. Glazed pear brioche and honey-apple hard candy align with a strong wet river stone minerality, with a generous mid-palate and lengthy finish.
Winemaker Conor McCormack has always wanted to make a sparkling wine, and after much technical research and increased demand, he decided to go for it, opting for single vintage, single vineyard and single varietal. Conor believes the Finger Lakes Chardonnay has the perfect climate to get consistent results, continuing his goal to represent specific regions from a unique time.
