2014 Riesling - Skin Fermented
This wine is available only in half bottles (375ml)
This skin fermented style of Riesling is a result of years of experimenting with the skin contact technique and isn’t one you’ll come across every day! Essentially it is a white wine made like a red, with the grape skins themselves contributing greatly to the flavor profile and mouthfeel of the wine. The extended aging of the wine with the skins results in a beautifully robust wine, both in color and taste.
Winemaker’s Tasting Notes:
A deep yellow hue, yet clear and bright. Muddled lemon rind, dried apricot, and strawberry lemonade ride along with brown spice, cardamom, and sandalwood to make this a very interesting and expressive wine. Due to the skin contact, the body of the wine is much thicker and rounder than a “normal” white wine, showcasing integrated yet robust tannins and long finish.
